What is the Student Mentorship Program? This year we are inviting current Cobb County High School band students to get involved in our Student Mentorship Program. Student mentors who are selected to serve at the CCMS Summer Band Camp will have the opportunity to assist the camp directors, work alongside the conductors and clinicians, and interact with the middle school musicians. We are looking for dynamic and positive servant leaders who demonstrate exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to work cohesively in a team setting. Students interested in applying should complete our student mentor application.
Application Instructions: There are three components to our Student Mentorship Program Application.
1. Create a Video: Include a brief 3-minute video in which you introduce yourself and describe how you display willingness to serve others. You can use this part of the application to showcase your personality, musical talent, and creativity! We are looking for dynamic students to be a part of this wonderful team of servant leaders.
Videos should be submitted as online videos using YouTube, Vimeo, or another online video platform that does not require downloading to view. Password-protected videos will not be considered. We recommend ensuring your videos are unlisted with the comments turned off. Applicants are responsible for the playability of the video and accuracy of the URL address.
2. Submit Your Online Application: Complete our online application, which asks for your basic information (name, high school, primary instrument, etc.) as well as a space for you to paste your URL address for your video application.
3. Band Director Nomination: Before your application is complete, your head band director must submit a nomination form on your behalf. Band directors will be sent an e-mail with the nomination form once we receive your application.
